A wave from San Fran

Hi all!

Vacation mode is enabled: dinner now includes several courses, workouts have been put on the backburner (though I’m looking for somewhere to do pull-ups) and I’m letting my characters simmer in my head rather than on the page. If you’re wondering what’s with the food similes, I haven’t had breakfast yet (it’s not even 8AM over here). But I have coffee and free wifi so life is pretty sweet.

San Francisco is as beautiful as I remembered and I’d seriously underestimated the joy of living close to the coast: cold but not clammy. I’ve missed this!

Do your writing improve when you’re away from home or do you need routines to produce good work?

  1. Yay San Fran! Lucky, lucky girl. =D

    • I know! πŸ˜€

The good part about having friends scattered across the world is that you have couches in great places. πŸ™‚

      • That’s right! (or, actually, I want to take credit, so no). πŸ˜‰

  2. Yay for being in the state of California! I’m on the opposite end, but both ends are lovely. (Some of the middle parts I could do without, though. πŸ˜‰

My writing tends to taper off significantly or disappear altogether when I’m in foreign surroundings. Heck, any change throws me for a loop, in and outside of writing. Know how much I’ve written since I posted my Monday entry about how I was absolutely going to hit my writing goals with room to spare? Hahaha, yeah. Sure I am.

    • Oh, but that could be because you jinxed it… Every time I say things are going well, I’m blocked for three days. πŸ˜‰

But no, haven’t written much since I got here. Got one good hour in this morning before everybody else woke up, but that’s it.

I’m in love with California (at least north and south). If someone offered me a job here (read: San Diego or San Fransisco), I’d be tempted to move.
